Le Bachelor of Science (BSc) en Communication, Journalisme & M\u00e9dias d’UNIVGA est un cursus universitaire complet de 3 ans (180 ECTS) qui forme des professionnels de l’information capables d’exercer en presse \u00e9crite, radio, TV, web et m\u00e9dias sociaux. Le programme couvre les fondamentaux th\u00e9oriques de la communication, la pratique journalistique exigeante et les comp\u00e9tences techniques modernes attendues dans une r\u00e9daction multim\u00e9dia.<\/p>\n

Designed to respond to the rapid transformation of the African media landscape and the emergence of new formats (podcast, short video, newsletters), this training is delivered 100% online. It combines a strong ethical and deontological requirement with mastery of contemporary tools: mobile reporting (MOJO), video editing, fact-checking, and responsible use of AI tools.<\/p>\n

Market challenges and career opportunities<\/h3>\n

The African media landscape is undergoing significant restructuring: online press, 100% digital media, religious or thematic television, community radios, web radios, and podcasts. Newsrooms are looking for versatile journalists capable of producing for multiple platforms, verifying information, and understanding regional and international issues. NGOs, institutions, companies, and brands are also recruiting journalistic profiles for their corporate publications.<\/p>\n

Curriculum pedagogical structure<\/h3>\n

Year 1 \u2014 Fundamentals of communication and general culture.<\/strong> Communication theories, media history, general culture and geopolitics, written and oral expression, audience sociology, descriptive statistics, professional office skills.<\/p>\n

Year 2 \u2014 Journalistic practice and media techniques.<\/strong> Journalistic writing (5W, lead, inverted pyramid), reporting, interviewing, photojournalism, sound recording and radio editing, basic video shooting and editing, press law, journalistic English.<\/p>\n

Year 3 \u2014 Specialization in digital media and journalism.<\/strong> News broadcasts and radio shows, podcasts and long audio formats, MOJO (mobile journalism), fact-checking and source verification, professional ethics, social media for journalists, data journalism (introduction), AI applied to information. The program concludes with a supervised professional thesis, presented orally via videoconference before an academic jury.<\/p>\n

Writer-journalist (print, web, radio, TV), reporter, junior radio or TV presenter, audiovisual production manager, community editor, web writer, podcaster, editorial communication officer in NGOs or companies, fact-checking officer.
