With the arrival of American and British investors at our oil sites, mastering the English language tailored to the oil sector has become a necessity to obtain and maintain a job in the sector.<\/p>\n

Many of our young professionals have been denied or lost a job in the field due to a lack of language skills to better communicate with their hierarchy.<\/p>\n

This course aims to equip professionals in the oil sector with the optimal vocabulary necessary for managing a site and also to understand the technical documents under their management.<\/p>\n

This course is suitable for a student with a minimum English level of terminal class.<\/p>\n

The topics that will be covered are as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. Reminder of basic vocabulary and some common expressions to master before the course<\/li>\n
  2. The hierarchy of the company in English (Departments and their role in the company)<\/li>\n
  3. How to introduce oneself in British and American English (Origin, profession, expertise, department)<\/li>\n
  4. How to hold a meeting in English: Morning huddle, Reviews, Inspections, End-of-the-day debrief<\/li>\n
  5. How to manage conversation during a first meeting (with hierarchy, colleagues, a team)<\/li>\n
  6. Technical terms to know in offshore\/onshore in the oil field<\/li>\n
  7. Work tools in the oil field<\/li>\n
  8. Means of communication in the oil field: Current state (Initial report), and final report, reporting an incident, technical report<\/li>\n
  9. Health, safety, and regulations in force: Safety, health, rules and regulation on pollution vocabulary<\/li>\n
  10. Continuous education in the oil industry<\/li>\n
  11. Professions in the oil field<\/li>\n
  12. How to make a presentation and conduct an interview in the oil field including writing a CV in American English<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: At the end of the course, each student will have to make a presentation on a topic in the oil field and succeed in an oral interview that will include ten essential questions (A proforma will be provided by the professor)<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
