It corresponds to the idea of management and steering applied to a company or a unit of it. When it concerns the entire company, it can generally be equated with the management function.<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-lg-8 offset-xl-1 col-xl-6 p-0-lg-up\">\n<div class=\"internalContent\">\n<div class=\"paragraph\">\n<p>Business management consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Setting objectives (strategic and operational),<\/li>\n<li>Choosing the means to achieve them,<\/li>\n<li>Implementing these means (seeking efficiency),<\/li>\n<li>Controlling the implementation and the results obtained,<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring regulation based on this control (governance).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It includes a technical dimension focused on optimizing resources and a human dimension related to the need to obtain motivation and cooperation from the members of the organization.<\/p>\n<p>According to Maurice Obadia, it is mistakenly believed that the term management contains the \"radical man\" (the man), which would therefore be at the center of management. But it is rather the \"radical Latin manus\" (the hand) that it contains which is at the center. Thus, \"Manus \u2013 agere (to act),\" it is inextricably linking the hand and action.
