Otago Polytechnic

New Zealand, Dunedin, Cromwell and Auckland

The University of Michigan-Flint (UM-Flint) is renowned for over six decades of academic excellence, with origins dating back to 1837, when it was initially established as Flint Senior College. Its founding was influenced by Sarah C. Miles Case, a resident of Ann Arbor, and it became a fully recognized institution in 1956. Today, UM-Flint is an important part of the University of Michigan system, alongside its campuses in Ann Arbor and Dearborn.

Otago Polytechnic is a leading institution for applied education in New Zealand. It was established in 1870 as the Dunedin School of Art, and nearly a century later, Otago Polytechnic was officially launched in 1966. Over a period of 150+ years, the polytechnic has offered a diverse range of programs to prepare students for work, making them capable and confident.
With 3 campuses, the institution serves a diverse student population of over 9,000 learners per year, including a significant number of international students. The Dunedin campus is located in the heart of the city's vibrant student quarter, just a ten-minute walk from the city center. In Central Otago, the Cromwell and Wānaka campuses offer programs with hands-on learning experiences in areas such as horticulture, snow sports, and outdoor education. The international campus of Otago Polytechnic Auckland, located on Queen Street, is exclusively for international students.
The mission of Otago Polytechnic is to develop the capabilities of individuals, organizations, and communities, enabling them to realize their potential. This mission is guided by three core values: Manawanui (reaching out and welcoming), Manawaroa (learning to achieve together), and Manawaora (nurturing and growing the whole person). These values are integral to the institution's commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for studying in New Zealand.
The polytechnic offers a comprehensive range of programs across various disciplines, including business, health, engineering, design, and the arts. Research at Otago Polytechnic focuses on producing relevant outcomes accessible to local, national, and global communities.
Graduate employment outcomes from Otago Polytechnic are particularly strong. Many programs incorporate internships, industry placements, and real-world projects, providing students with valuable experience and professional networks that enhance their employability after graduation.
