The University of Michigan-Flint (UM-Flint) is renowned for over six decades of academic excellence, with origins dating back to 1837, when it was initially established as Flint Senior College. Its founding was influenced by Sarah C. Miles Case, a resident of Ann Arbor, and it became a fully recognized institution in 1956. Today, UM-Flint is an important part of the University of Michigan system, alongside its campuses in Ann Arbor and Dearborn.

Founded in 1877 as the first university in Western Canada, the University of Manitoba is located in Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba. It is the largest and most research-focused university in the region, playing a key role in promoting innovation and academic excellence. The university has two main campuses, Fort Garry and Bannatyne, as well as several satellite campuses in the province. It has over 30,500 students, of which approximately 20% are international students representing 122 countries. Its academic community is supported by a faculty and academic staff of over 8,400 people. The acceptance rate at the University of Manitoba is considered high, giving students who meet admission requirements a fair chance of securing a place.
It houses the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and is a member of U15. The university invests over $7.3 billion in groundbreaking research in areas such as nanotechnology, HIV/AIDS, functional foods, nutraceuticals, and climate change. Each year, approximately $40 million in scholarships are awarded. To date, more than 98 Manitoba students have received the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. The University of Manitoba in Canada offers a comprehensive study abroad program, allowing students to participate in service-learning programs, internships, or exchanges in 36 countries.
Its global reach is further enhanced by a vast alumni network of 132,000 members in 131 countries. Notable alumni include Canadian philosopher Marshall McLuhan, American sociologist Erving Goffman, musician Burton Cummings, and many others, reflecting the university's lasting impact across various fields.
