About Course
Agritourism refers to the organization of tourism activities within agricultural operations, combining the welcoming of visitors with the discovery of agricultural practices, local production, and rural heritage. Agritourism operators design, animate, and manage these experiences, which may include farm visits, farm stays, hands-on workshops, and product tastings.
Operators can work directly within agricultural operations wishing to diversify their income, within rural tourism agencies, departmental tourism offices, or local authorities. They also act as consultants for the creation of lodges, farm guesthouses, educational trails, and themed events (picking, grape harvesting, agricultural festivals).
With the rise in demand for responsible and authentic tourism, agritourism is experiencing significant growth. The skills of an agritourism operator are sought after to design innovative offerings, adapt farms to safety and hospitality standards, and promote short supply chains. Opportunities extend to business creation, the development of subsidized projects, and the international promotion of local products.
