Description

UNIVGA's Professional Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity is a comprehensive 3-year university program (180 ECTS) that trains analysts and technicians specializing in the protection of information systems. The program covers threat identification, infrastructure auditing, application security, and incident response, drawing on international standards and the realities of the global digital landscape.

Designed to address the critical global shortage of cybersecurity professionals, this training program is offered online by 100%. It combines the technical fundamentals of computer science (networks, systems, programming, databases) with specialized skills in offensive and defensive security and governance, such as ISO 27001 auditing, GDPR compliance, applied cryptography, and cyber crisis management.

Market issues and career opportunity

Cyberattacks targeting businesses, banks, telecom operators, and public institutions have tripled over the last five years. Commercial banks, industrial companies, tax administrations, and telecom operators are actively seeking profiles capable of identifying vulnerabilities, securing their infrastructures, and responding quickly in case of an incident. Cybersecurity skills remain scarce and far below demand, making it one of the most promising sectors for qualified and well-paid employment.

Curriculum pedagogical structure

Year 1 - Computer Fundamentals. This first year lays a solid foundation in computer science: algorithms, data structures, computer architecture, Linux and Windows operating systems, TCP/IP networks, Python programming, and relational databases and SQL. An introduction to computer security and the legal framework complete the year.

Year 2 — Technical Deep Dive. The second year develops administration and security skills: server systems administration, enterprise network design and security, applied cryptography, web application security (OWASP), cloud and virtualization security, IS governance according to ISO 27001, and international digital law.

Year 3 — Cybersecurity specialization track. The third year is entirely dedicated to professional specialization: offensive security and penetration testing, defensive security with SOC and SIEM, incident response and digital forensics, cybersecurity auditing and compliance, cybersecurity project management, and IT leadership. The program concludes with the writing of a supervised professional thesis, defended orally via videoconference before an academic jury. An optional supervised project, based on the student's professional experience, can supplement the thesis.

Career opportunities

Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible for positions such as cybersecurity analyst in a SOC, junior pentester, network security administrator, junior cybersecurity consultant, IS compliance officer, internal or external security auditor, or operational security manager for an SME. The training also prepares students for further studies in specialized Master's programs in cybersecurity, information security management, or digital risk governance.

Suitable for working professionals

UNIVGA is designed to meet the needs of working professionals, who make up 80% of its student body. The platform is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; the learning pace is flexible; and the educational content can be accessed as many times as needed. Weekly virtual classes are recorded and remain available. Students keep their jobs while studying at their own pace and can directly apply the skills they’ve acquired in their professional environment.
