The cybersecurity consultant assists companies, administrations, and start-ups in securing their IT systems and networks.

Job description

Specialist and guarantor of the protection of confidential data, the cybersecurity consultant analyzes the risks faced by a company in order to propose tailored and personalized solutions to its needs and expectations in terms of protection. They can be called upon for both prevention/security missions as well as to support companies in crisis situations following hacks or cyberattacks, for example.

The cybersecurity consultant first establishes a diagnosis to identify the weaknesses of a system, defines intrusion scenarios, tests the vulnerability of installations, and assesses whether the existing security level aligns with the needs.

Secondly, their role is to propose appropriate solutions that meet the client's needs (technical and team choices, security procedures...).

The cybersecurity consultant has solid technical knowledge (prevention, detection, combating cybercrime), strong analytical and synthesis skills, and fluent English both written and spoken. By ensuring constant monitoring of new tools and trending hacking methods, the cybersecurity consultant must also possess a curious, inventive, and ingenious mindset.

The mission of a cybersecurity consultant, beyond assessing a given situation, is also to imagine, anticipate, and know how to adapt to new threats.

In the face of the digital development in our daily lives as well as in the professional world, the multiplication of threats, and the ingenuity of hackers (increased viruses and malware, cyber scams, cyberattacks...), the cybersecurity market is booming, and cybersecurity consultants have a bright future ahead.

Most consultants are employed in specialized cybersecurity firms where they primarily carry out missions in the fields of defense/aerospace, banking and finance, telecommunications, and industry. However, some work freelance.
