In order to expand scientific, educational, health, and medical cooperation, the Secretary General of CINVU met with the President of the University of Medical Sciences of Tehran.
According to the CINVU Public Relations Report, Dr. Karim Najafi Barzegar, Secretary General of CINVU, referred to this event regarding the capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of medical sciences and emphasized the need to utilize these academic capabilities to expand scientific diplomacy.
Dr. Hossein Ghanaati, President of the University of Medical Sciences of Tehran, who was also present at this event, expressed his readiness to join this university in the larger family of CINVU and deemed it necessary to utilize all capabilities to strengthen health scientific diplomacy.
The University of Medical Sciences of Tehran – TUMS – is the successor of the Dar al-Funun School of Medicine in Tehran, which relies on over a century of activity and is considered one of the oldest academic institutions of medical sciences in Iran. This university has the highest number of students in medical fields compared to other higher education institutions in Iran and it has the largest faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, rehabilitation, paramedicine, health, nursing, and midwifery in Iran.
It is worth mentioning that CINVU is one of the Networks affiliated with – COMSTECH – the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation hosted by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This International Organization is a knowledge and capability hub, striving to expand public higher education based on smart technology with the aim of justice, deepening and reliability of knowledge and thought, and education, research, cultural empowerment, and skills of the Islamic World.
